- Reporters without borders. An international association dedicated to press freedom. It defends persecuted journalists, ensures their safety, and campaigns against censorship. It publishes an annual report on the state of press freedom in various countries.

- My news. Provides access to the full text of both print and digital versions of various newspapers, primarily at the national level, from 1966 onwards. It allows you to search by keyword and refine results by date, section, newspaper, and more.
- PressReader. Offers access to the current editions of thousands of newspapers and magazines from 100 countries, in their original format. Only the archives from the past three months are available. List of titles.
- Proquest News & Newspapers.Grants access to the full text of over 3,000 newspapers, news websites, and blogs from leading publishers around the world. It includes newspapers such as The New York Times, The Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more. It allows searching by keyword, geographic region, and title.
- Factiva. A database focused on current affairs and business, indexing both national and international press.
- Westlaw International for Academics.A database of US law and legislation, subscribed to by the UAB libraries. In the "News" section, you can find a comprehensive data indexing service.
- Kiosco y más. A platform providing access to El País, ABC, and Cinco Días. Files cannot be downloaded.

- El Quiosc. A compilation of newspapers, magazines, and press databases subscribed to by UAB. On this page, you can also search by date. It also includes free-access press databases, many of which contain digitised historical newspapers. Additionally, it provides information about which database service indexes each publication, a link to their digital versions, and to the UAB catalogue if the publication is physically available in the library.

- Yearbook. Published by the European Audiovisual Observatory in print or on CD-ROM, this resource contains statistics on film, television, audiovisual media, video, and new media.
- Anuario de audiencias de televisión. The primary source for television data, providing GRP (Gross Rating Point) data.
- Extreme Music. A music database that allows users to listen to music across all genres. Tracks can be downloaded for editing into educational productions for UAB courses.
- Sound library of the Universitat Jaume I. A collection of more than 76,000 digitised discs (LPs, singles, and CDs) spanning a wide range of musical styles, sourced from Cadena Ser in Castellón. Music cannot be downloaded.

- Catalan Audiovisual Council (CAC). The regulatory authority overseeing audiovisual content in Catalonia, responsible for ensuring compliance with legal content guidelines in both public and private media. Publishes annual reports on the Catalan audiovisual sector and other research studies.
- Catalan Films & TV. A database covering audiovisual productions, co-productions, professionals, companies, and festivals in Catalonia.
- Observatori de la Ràdio a Catalunya (OBS). The OBS is part of the Grup de Recerca en Imatge So i Síntesi (GRISS) at the UAB, receiving support from all Catalan radio stations. Spanish scope
- Cine. A website managed by the Ministry of Culture, offering a database of both Spanish and international films (features and shorts) along with audience data, box office stats, and additional information such as festival details, grants, and the Spanish Film Archive.
- National Commission on Markets and Competition. Regulates the Spain’s electronic and audiovisual communications market, among other sectors. It operates independently and publishes resolutions, agreements, and reports. Its databases allow keyword searches and sector-based filtering of agreements and reports.
European scope
- Media Landscapes. A comprehensive platform by the European Journalism Centre that provides insights into the media industries across Europe, covering press, radio, television, cinema, and the internet, as well as related organizations, regulations, and study centres.
- European Audiovisual Observatory. A public body that offers comparative insights into the audiovisual industry across Europe. It publishes reports, statistics, and analysis on distribution, exhibition, and industry trends. It also hosts databases such as Iris Merlin (legal information), Lumiere (film admissions), MAVISE (television channels), and AVMS (national transpositions of the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive).
- Creative Europe MEDIA strand. A European Union programme that supports the audiovisual sector by offering grants for distribution, production, and other related initiatives.
International scope
- Kemps Film and TV Production Services Directory. An international database for audiovisual production services, enabling searches by country, product, or company. It provides contact details, staff information, company profiles, and in some cases, a gallery of their work.
- Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The US agency responsible for enforcing communication laws and regulations. It oversees the issuance of radio and television licenses, allocates radio frequencies, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. - Internet Movie Database. IMDb is the most complete international database on cinema. It thoroughly catalogues all kinds of information about films, television series and documentaries: actors, director, filming locations, titles in other languages, etc. It offers many search possibilities (title, episode title, names, companies, characters, etc.)
- Filmaffinity. International film database with two versions, in Spanish and in English. You can search by title directors and actors. The results include paragraphs of reviews of some publications and user ratings.

- Movie Review Query Engine. Powerful database of film reviews. Focused on English spoken cinema, it also includes some films in other languages. The reviews are from the American media (and secondly from the United Kingdom) and include the general press, specialised magazines, etc.
