We are looking for 1 Postdoctoral Research Fellow & 1 Predoctoral Research Fellow at iHC for the research project "The WRECH project"

The Institute of History of Science (iHC) of the UAB has received funding from the Ministry for a project "International Collaboration Projects PCI2024-1".

The ICREA Senior researcher of the iHC-UAB, Dr. Marco Armiero, has received a grant for a research project "International Collaboration Projects PCI2024-1." The project titled "Whispers of Time: Heritage as Narratives of Climate-Change (WRENCH)" has been funded with €190,000 and will have a duration of three years.

The WRENCH project aims to: (i) enhance knowledge on the effects of climate change on heritage; (ii) analyze how communities perceive, inhabit, and envision their heritage in the context of climate change; (iii) survey existing practices and develop new ones for the living conservation of heritage; (iv) employ heritage as storytelling tools to make visible the risks of climate change.

The candidates will conduct empirical research on one of the two case studies in the project: (1) the Rio Matanza−Riachuelo in Buenos Aires as a place of industrial heritage; (2) the Montes de Galicia as a natural/cultural heritage site. In the application, the candidate should clearly state their interest in one of the two case studies.

The WRENCH project fosters an inclusive working environment for all and encourages applications regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, and disability, particularly when underrepresented in our workforce.
