Pep Canadell: "If we do not become global citizens, we will not solve climate change"
Pep Canadell, executive director of Global Carbon Project (GCP) and chief research scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), offered a conference on 27 June entitled "Is global warming accelerating and are we in time to stop it at 1.5, 2 or 3°C?", organised by the faculties of Biosciences and Science and CREAF.

"Is global warming accelerating? Are we in time to stop it at 1.5, 2 or 3°C?"
Pep Canadell, executive director of the Global Carbon Project (GCP) and head of research at the Australian National Science Agency (CSIRO), will give a lecture entitled "Is global warming accelerating and are we in time to stop it at 1.5, 2 or 3°C?". The conference will take place on Thursday 27 June at 1 p.m., in the auditorium of the Faculties of Science and Biosciences. The conference has been organised by the UAB and CREAF, of which Canadell is, respectively, alumnus and scientific advisor, and is open to the general public.
Finalists of the 7th edition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes" to offer presentations on 7 May
The final competition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes", in which PhD students are encouraged to present their doctoral thesis in a maximum of four minutes, will take place on 7 May at 12 noon, at the UAB Doctoral School. The event will be streamed live on the UAB's YouTube channel.

Call for teaching innovation support 2024
The call is aimed at giving support to the development of teaching and innovation research proposals that are interdisciplinary and cross-curricular with impact on student learning and that are transferable to the university community. Applications can be presented from 22 April to 22 May 2024.
Adolescents, risky behaviours and emotional well-being, in a scientific conference at the UAB
The UAB hosted the 1st Conference on Addictions, Well-being and Mental Health on Youth and Adolescents on Friday 12 April from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. Organised by the Stress and Health Research Group (GIES) of the UAB, it discussed crucial issues such as cannabis abuse, binge drinking in adolescents, and problematic use of the internet among young people.
Two European partnerships on animal health and welfare and medical solutions to CBRN threats, with the participation of the UAB
Researchers from four health science departments of the UAB are part of two recently launched partnership projects, promoted by the European Union through the Horizon Europe Programme and the European Defence Fund. On the one hand, EUPAHW, which aims to promote research in animal health and welfare and collaboration with other agents of society from the perspectives of one health and one welfare. On the other hand, RESILIENCE, which will research and develop new medical solutions against potential chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.
