On July 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2024, the Faculty of Biosciences at UAB is the venue for the National Phase of the V Spanish Junior Science Olympiad (OCJE). This event, which brings together the top 30 students from 15 Autonomous Communities, is supported by the UAB Councils of Science and Biosciences and the Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM).

The OCJE, now in its fifth edition, has managed to mobilize over 1600 participants in its regional phase. The teams that stood out in these preliminary rounds are now gathering at UAB to face a series of practical and theoretical tests. These tests, designed for pairs of students from the same school, assess their knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and geology, at a level equivalent to the advanced curriculum of the third year of ESO.

With this initiative, the Faculty of Biosciences reaffirms its commitment to scientific education and the training of new generations, hoping that this olympiad will be a resounding success and an example of the scientific and collaborative spirit that characterizes the institution.
