Son Fornés Archaeological Museum
This thematic museum is located in a fully renovated 17th century flour mill, the Molí des Fraret, owned by Montuïri Local Council. It exhibits all the findings from the site of the same name, located 2.4 km from the urban centre of Montuïri on the road to Pina.
The permanent exhibition showcases the results of research based on three chronological modules: the known world in the context of the Mediterranean, the island territory and the Son Fornés settlement. The different rooms take us on a journey through time from the most recent prehistory of the Pla de Mallorca, through to the Roman conquest of the island in 123 CE.
On display are objects, images, texts and multimedia materials about the way the inhabitants of Son Fornés lived in the Talaiotic, Post-Talaiotic and Classical Periods, from the 10th century BCE to the 1st century CE.
