Castellví de la Marca
The archaeological site of the UAB Archaeology Campus of Castellví de la Marca was born from the collaboration between the Castellví Town Council and the OCORDE research group in order to study, preserve and disseminate the remarkable medieval heritage of the town. Since 2016 archaeological interventions have been carried out in the municipality, mainly in the Castellot de Castellví, which occupies a prominent position and is a main reference point for hiking in the Alt Penedès region.
During this time, it has been possible to excavate most of the castle enclosure and today the work of restoration and adaptation of the complex for its visit continues. Archaeological research also continues at the foot of the castle enclosure and at other early medieval sites in the municipality, where some university and high school students from the region usually participate, within the framework of the ARGÓ program of the UAB.
