Advantages of going by train

The train is a high-capacity, fast and comfortable means of public transport and is an economical option socially and environmentally- It is not surprising then that almost half of the journeys to the campus are by train – either the Ferrocarrils line or Renfe. 

According to the 2019 UAB University Community Mobility Habits Survey 53.3% of the university community come to the UAB campus by train. Specifically 33.9% use the Ferrocarrils line and 19.4% use Renfe. The reasons they gave for doing so were: close to home, punctuality and not owning a private vehicle.

The Bellaterra campus of the UAB has two train services. The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), on the Vallès metro with line 2, and the Renfe Rodalies lines R7 and R8.
