The UAB will present its new website dedicated to car sharing during the European Mobility Week, taking place from 18 to 22 September. On 21 September an information stand will be set up at the Espai SiS to help users become familiar with how the web works and clear up any doubts university members may have. All those signing up to participate will also enter a chance to win a sustainable weekend getaway for two.
A total of 67% of the UAB community uses public transport to reach the campus, the highest figure since 2001, while private transport means have fallen to 27.5%, the lowest percentage since 2001, according to a UAB survey on mobility habits answered by 4,495 people.
After Brussels and Beijing, the UAB visited New York on Wednesday 24 May to inaugurate its UAB Alumni East Coast Chapter, a network promoting the exchange of professional experiences among Catalans living on the US East Coast who studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
From 17 to 21 April, the UAB launches a new initiative under the name of BiciBus UAB: volunteers that will act as guides and accompany people on bike from different cities to the UAB campus. The goal is to help new bikers discover the routes to be used to get to and from campus. There will be volunteers in Cerdanyola, Sabadell, Sant Quirze, Sant Cugat, Terrassa, Barcelona (Renfe Sant Andreu Arenal) and la Llagosta.
Over the course of three years, the team coordinated by the UAB has co-created open-use digital cultural content that is now available for consultation and adaptation to the project's Memory Centre Platform.
The UAB and the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, with the collaboration and support of the University of Barcelona and Applus+ Laboratories, organise for 18 December the 2022 Solidarity Race and Walk to help raise funds for the yearly fundraiser La Marató de TV3, which this year focuses on cardiovasculara health. This is the 11th edition of a race in which the UAB campus turns into a huge solidarity sports festival.
