Jagat Narula

Jagat Narula, a world expert in cardiovascular diseases and in the use of imaging technologies in cardiology, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB on September 1st at a ceremony held at Casa Convalescència, at the proposal of the Faculty of Medicine. Ignasi Carrió, professor of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the UAB and director of the Nuclear Medicine Service of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau, was the godfather.

2012-2013

Photographer Isabel Steva, Colita

Isabel Steva, Colita, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB, at the proposal of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, in a ceremony that took place on November 6th at Casa Convalescència and which brought together, in addition to academic representatives, numerous photography professionals. Francesc Vilanova, professor in the Department of Modern and Contemporary History at the UAB, acted as sponsor and commented on Colita's career. The new doctor's master class focused on her research assignment on women photographers.

2004-2005

James D. Watson

James D. Watson was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB in recognition of his discovery of the structure of DNA, which has enabled the development of biology and molecular genetics.

Peter Josef Ell

Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the University of London and Director of the Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Peter Josef Ell was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB in a ceremony that took place on April 5th in the Aula Magna of Casa Convalescència. Ell's presentation was given by Professor Ignasi Carrió, who glossed over the scientific and human merits of a researcher who "has helped create, as a scientist, the foundations for European nuclear medicine and molecular imaging." Lluís Ferrer highlighted the European spirit of Dr. Ell.

Robert E. Scully was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB for his contributions to the present and future of medical sciences.
