The intersection of science and storytelling has received scholarly attention from a variety of disciplines as a source of insight into the ways knowledge is constructed, communicated, and understood. In this session, we will discuss the merits and shortcomings of the 'science for storytellers' framework as developed within the context of a recent project carried out by students of science communication at the UAB, the Encyclopedia of Science Stories. Additional themes for discussion touched on in the (forthcoming) pre-circulated text include the nature of experience-based critique, participative models of knowledge production and the place for fashionable academic trends in the history of science.
