From Monday to Friday.
From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand patient interactive behaviors according to gender, cultural background, and social context.
- Identify the social determinants of health.
- Understand how health and illness are socially constructed.
- Analyze the social inequalities that manifest themselves in the axes of social inequality and the needs that derive from them.
- Understand people without prejudice, considering their physical, psychological and social aspects and ensuring respect for their opinions, beliefs and values.
- Recognize the importance of transcultural care and clinical cultural competence.
Final Grade:
- Every week, students will present their narrative photographs and discuss them with the group (40% of final grade).
- In the final week, students will work in groups of 2-4 to prepare a presentation aimed at convincing their supervisor to incorporate the sociocultural perspective into daily clinical practice (40% of final grade).
- In the last week, each student will submit a reflective self-assessment report (10% of final grade).
