The Institut d’Història de la Ciència (IHC) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) invites PhD candidates to apply for one predoctoral FPU Fellowship (call open) to complete the doctoral degree. Applicants will be invited to develop the full competitive FPU application with the support of iHC’s researchers and the research administration staff at UAB.

CALL for EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - PREDOCTORAL FPU FELLOWSHIP

The Institut d’Història de la Ciència (IHC) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) invites PhD candidates to apply for one predoctoral FPU Fellowship (call open) to complete the doctoral degree. Applicants will be invited to develop the full competitive FPU application with the support of iHC’s researchers and the research administration staff at the UAB.

The IHC research mainly focuses on the history of science in the 19th and 20th centuries, from diverse perspectives: science, politics and power; audiences as active agents in the construction of knowledge; the material, spatial and urban dimensions of science; the nature of technoscience, the environmental crisis, and the relation between science, health and gender (https://www.uab.cat/web/institut-d-historia-de-la-ciencia-1345831710380.html). 

 

Deadline iHC:

27/01/2024, 12h (CET)

 

We invite students to submit their expression of interest with: 

· CV (4 pages max.).

· Motivation letter & thesis director preference (1 page max.) 

· Description of the research proposal (1 pages max., excluding references).

Decision
The Institute of History of Science will evaluate all the received proposals according with the research lines and scientific interests of the iHC and will communicate the results by Wednesday, January 29, allowing enough time for the Ministry’s application procedure.
