Exemptions
Exemptions can be applied for at any time during the academic year in post-compulsory education before the ordinary final assessment. The director of the centre will resolve the application within 10 days of submission.
Exceptionally, the Directorate General for Vocational Training (DGFP) must resolve applications that do not comply with the requirements described for each of the exemption cases.
Two partial exemptions cannot be cumulative
100% exemption for professional experience
This is awarded if the student accredits professional experience corresponding to a number of hours equal to or greater than those of the FCT module related to the same professional field and the main occupations and workplaces linked to the vocational training course.
To apply, please fill in the following document: FCT Exemption application form and attach it to the General application form, together with the following documents:
If you work for a company or institution or entity:
- Employment report issued by the General Treasury of the Social Security.
- Certificate or report from the organisation or company with the skills or experience corresponding to the work related to the respective professional studies.
If you are self-employed:
- Certificate of registration for economic activity.
- Social Security contribution invoices (if applicable)
- Self-employed quota
- Quarterly declaration of economic activity (form 130)
The application form and documents must be submitted as a single pdf attachment.
50% exemption for professional experience
This is awarded if the student accredits professional experience corresponding to a number of hours equal to or greater than 50% of those of the FCT module related to the professional and work field and the main occupations and workplaces related to the vocational training course.
To apply for it, fill in the FCT Exemption application form and attach it to the "General application form", together with the following documents:
If you work for a company or institution ro entity:
- Employment report issued by the Tresoreria General de la Seguretat Social (Social Security General Treasury).
- Certificate or report from the organisation or company with the skills or experience corresponding to the work related to the respective professional studies.
If you are self-employed:
- Certificate of registration for economic activity.
- Social Security contribution invoices (if applicable)
- Self-employed quota
- Quarterly declaration of economic activity (form 130)
The application form and documents must be submitted as a single pdf attachment.
25% exemption for professional experience
Awarded if the student accredits work experience in any professional activity. At least double the number of hours of the work experience module of the CFGS for which the exemption is requested must be accredited.
To apply for it, you must fill in the FCT Exemption application form and attach it to the "General application form", together with the following documents:

Your work life report issued by the General Treasury of the Social Security.

Other exemptions with accreditation
This can be accredited with the official certificate issued by the academic institution that has carried out the academic recognition of the learning acquired through work experience or the procedure of evaluation and accreditation of professional competences.
To apply for it, you have to fill in the FCT Exemption application form and attach it to the "General application form", together with the following documents:

Evidence of the experience acquired in the field of the professional profile for the training course for which the exemption is requested.
Other exemptions for volunteers
You must accredit a number of hours of experience in the same professional profile equal to or greater than 50% of those of the FCT workplace training credit or module for the training course in order to have access to the partial exemption of 50%. If the number of hours of experience in the same professional profile equal to or greater than those of the FCT workplace training module or credit is accredited, the exemption may be total.
To apply for this, you must fill in the document "FCT Exemption application" and attach it to the "General Application" form, along with the following documents:
- Certificate from the organisation accrediting the fact you are registered in the Catalan Register of Associations and Volunteers.
Other exemptions that allow you a reduction of FCT hours
100 hours of reduction.
If a student has graduated from a training course and in a third course could obtain a second degree, a reduction of 100 hours will be applied for the FCT for the second training course that he/she is taking, as long as he/she has undertaken training activities for the first FCT related to the professional profile for the second certificate.
