Catalan students support

Support for international students to practice Catalan

Would you like to receive support from a UAB student during your stay at the UAB? This will help you practice the Catalan language and learn about aspects of Catalan culture.

Join our language volunteering programme. We offer you: ⤵️

• The opportunity to get in touch with a person studying at the UAB who will prepare 8 1-hour meetings with you so you can practice Catalan.
• Depending on your needs, the student will prepare activities for you to practice and learn.
• They are not Catalan teachers, they are simply there to help you practice the language.  
• They help you learn about aspects of Catalan culture first-hand.
• In the first semester these meetings are held between October and January and in the second semester they are held between March and June.

If you fill out the form below, we will contact you to answer your questions. We will then put you in touch with a volunteer who will help with your practice and basic understanding of Catalan, as well as help you learn more about the culture and traditions in the country.

What should I do if I would like to volunteer? 🔗

If Catalan is one of your mother tongues or you have a good level of the language and know about Catalan cultural traditions, you can be a language volunteer!

This is an activity to support international students (or university staff) who want to practice Catalan and learn about Catalan culture.

Your will plan activities to do with your partner so that they can practice Catalan according to their needs: speaking practice, new vocabulary, knowledge about the culture, etc... We will talk about all this in the training sessions.

If you are committed to the Catalan language, you want to make Catalan easier for international students and learn about new cultures, this activity is for you!
