Reverse conference: "Women at Work: vulnerabilities, sexual harassment and reproductive health from an intersectional perspective"
Description:
Intersectionality seeks to explain how race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age and other characteristics intersect and overlap with each other and affect the experiences of individuals or groups.
Discrimination in the form of "intersecting inequalities" based on a person's age, country of origin, disability, level of education or sexual orientation is a key determinant of both exposure to and experience of inequality at work. An intersectional approach is particularly useful when addressing how women are constructed as vulnerable subjects.
With this starting point, and under the title of "Women at Work: vulnerabilities, sexual harassment and reproductive health from an intersectional perspective", the AFIN research group of the UAB and the Human Resources, Work and Employment (HRWE) research group of the West England University (WEU) called upon their scientific community to produce potential research results on the topic "Intersectionality of women's vulnerabilities in the workplace" in the form of a reverse conference, from 24 January to 26 January.

The meeting will take place on 26 January, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Madrid. It will discuss the results of the INCODING project, funded by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, focusing on the challenge posed by algorithmic management and the use of AI for social actors, managers and workers.

The day will continue with four sessions in which the results of the project in the manufacturing and platform sectors will be presented, and two round tables will be opened with representatives of the social agents.
The event will be conducted in English, but simultaneous English-Spanish interpretation will be available. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required by 19 January.
