Approved in the Board of the Faculty of May 5, 2016
Modified in the Board of the Faculty of May 14, 2019
Modified from the clarification of the Academic Affairs Area on the extraordinary review of the final grades of March 3, 2023

1.      The students of official degree and masters of the faculty, in case of disagreement with the final qualification, have the right to request the extraordinary revision and will have them of a term of fifteen natural days, as of the date that the academic and administrative calendar set as the closing date for the closing of acts. They must submit a reasoned request for revision. This application will be presented before the dean of the center, and will be given to the academic management.

2.      Before submitting the request for the extraordinary review of the final grade, it is recommended to have previously carried out the ordinary review with the professor who has given the subject. The student can include in the application the observations of this ordinary review as well as the documentary evidence of having made it (copy of the evaluation reports provided by the professor during the ordinary review).

3.      It is recommended that the requests are reasoned.

"Reasoning" means a technical argument ("the average is incorrect", "the weighting of notes in the teaching guide" has not been met) or an academic argument ("the correction criteria have not been respected which indicates the teaching guide, "bad question was corrected for reasons ..."). No other reasoning will be accepted.

4.      The Deganate will create an extraordinary review commission per degree, - 2 for journalism by its volume of students-, for a duration of a renewable academic course, with holders and substitutes for each department. Each commission consists of a presidency, a secretary and three vocals (5 members). The teaching staff, whenever possible, will have taught in the degree. In each commission there is a member of each department of the Faculty, plus an interfacultive. The professor subject to the claim may not be part of the said commissions.

5.      The Deganate will create, where appropriate, commissiosn for the extraordinary master's review, with holders and substitutes among the teaching staff of the Master's Degree, after having proposed and consulting with the coordinators of the Master's and Department Directors. Each commission consists of a presidency, a secretary and a vowel (3 members). The professor subject to the claim may not be part of the said commissions.

6.      The president of the commission must notify the applicant student and the teacher who has taught the subject the constitution of the commission and, therefore, the beginning of the procedure.

7.      In this procedure, the commission always will have to hear in person the allegations from the student and the professor subject to the claim.

8.     The applications must be resolved within a maximum term of one month, excluding the month of August for the calculation of this period.

9.    From this review process, it will be necessary to leave documentary evidence, both of the procedure followed and the resolution adopted. Once the process has been completed, the secretary of the commission will transfer the complete file to the academic management for its execution and communication to the interested parties. The academic management will send the dean of all the record of the process of extraordinary review for their custody.

10.    In the event of any doubt, the Commission will resolve, after consulting the Dean if applicable.
