About
ICTA-UAB is a multidisciplinary research center with a vibrant community working on different aspects of the environmental sciences, studying complex issues that range from ocean dynamics to socio-ecological interactions and doing so from a myriad of perspectives: from engineering to economics and from modelling to anthropology.
This year’s symposium aims at nurturing ongoing and future research / activity done in the center by creating a space for the whole ICTA-UAB community to learn from other fields of work and providing an opportunity for networking. The Symposium also aims to provide participants with an opportunity to gain experience in presenting their work to a broad audience.
Contributions
PhD students, researchers with less than 5 years of post-doctoral experience and administrative staff working at ICTA-UAB are invited to share their work.
Contributions can be submitted by March 1st using EasyChair and MUST comply with the template specifications in order to be considered. PAS members may submit their abstract in Catalan, Spanish or English and researchers can submit theirs in English. We especially encourage submissions presenting either scientific results from early career researchers that have not been yet presented at ICTA-UAB, or activities and main challenges faced by administrative staff, in both cases communicated in an understandable way for fellows working in other disciplines. Research abstracts will be reviewed based on these criteria. A “send one, get one back” review approach will give us the opportunity to learn more about the work carried out at ICTA: each abstract will be reviewed through EasyChair by the corresponding author/presenter of another contribution to ICTASS19 who is not from the same research group or ICTA research line. Do not panic! We provide a rubric.
The scientific committee will assign accepted abstracts to either oral or poster presentations according to scientific quality and keeping a balance among the different research groups.
Best oral and poster contributions will receive a prize consisting of funding for publishing those scientific results in an open access journal or for presenting them at an international conference.
