SGR Urban Mobility is pleased to host the kickoff meeting of the Y-MOVE project (Youth Mobility & Views for a sustainable, Equitable and resilient future), funded by ECIU University.

Kickoff meeting of the Y-MOVE project

Y-MOVE project explores mobility patterns and sustainable mobility perspectives among university students in Finland, Poland, Portugal, and Spain. A cross-country, interdisciplinary approach will focus on gender, behaviors, and attitudes toward sustainable transport modes. A mixed-method approach will combine data sources, methods and study sites to provide a holistic view of changes in mobility attitudes. Each partner will use at least two methods: one they are proficient in, leveraging their strengths, and another they are less familiar with, to develop new skills and capacities. Current mobility will be analyzed using surveys, GNSS positioning data, and participatory workshops. Machine Learning algorithms will estimate future mobility changes, while future attitudes will be examined through conjoint analysis, photovoice and focus groups. The project will provide valuable insights to inform sustainable mobility policies and education, promoting behavioral change among young adults.

The project consortium is composed of researchers from the Universities of Aveiro, Łódź, and Tampere, and the project is led by Dr. Maciejewska from the UAB.
