Erasmus+ SUHET project: Sustainable High-End Tourism
With a duration of two years and half (January 2022 - June 2024), this educational project financed by the European Union, has as its main objective to promote quality training in the field of luxury tourism or high-end tourism, to promote its sustainability, as well as the sustainability of the entire tourism sector.
The project is formed by a consortium led by the Finnish university Lapin AMK, with the participation of Tourism and Hotel Management - Escola FUAB Formació, Erasmushogeschool Brussel (Belgium), University of Maribor (Slovenia) and the consultancy ECQ (Bulgaria). Likewise, the project has the collaboration of partners within the tourism sector who must help in its implementation, as is the case, in our country, of the Catalan Tourism Agency and its Catalunya Premium program.
One of the main results of the project will be the creation of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that will be integrated into the courses offered on the UAB's Coursera platform and that will allow free training in the field of the sustainable luxury tourism. That training is especially designed for future professionals in the tourism sector. The project also foresees the realization of training activities and various mobilities for students from the universities that make part of the project consortium.

Erasmus+ NATOUR project: Joint postgraduate study-programme in ecotourism and nature guiding
The project, funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, aims to create a joint postgraduate programme in ecotourism and interpretive nature guiding between European and Latin American universities, based on the previous background of the Postgraduate course in Ecotourism and Nature- Guide, which has been successfully offered by the Tourism and Hotel Management - Escola FUAB School for the last few years.
To carry out the project, a consortium of ten institutions has been created, led by the UAB, and which also includes three European partners (University of the Azores, in Portugal, University of Freiburg, in Germany, and the ECQ consultancy, from Bulgaria), two Colombian universities (Rosario and Javeriana), two Brazilian (Brasília and Federal Rural of Rio de Janeiro), and two Chilean (INACAP and DUOC).
NATOUR will last for more than three years (from January 2021 to October 2024) and during this period, the ten partners of the project will conduct joint training seminars for teachers, as well as design and implement the new study programmes in their respective universities, always with innovative pedagogical approaches and incorporating new technologies. It has the support of the European Association for the Interpretation of Heritage (Interpret Europe), and also contemplates the mobility of students from Latin America to European universities, where they can carry out their internships during the last year of the project.
