UAB - Novartis Chair in Teaching and Research in Family Medicine

This Chair is linked to the Department of Medicine of the UAB and has as its main mission to promote the development of teaching and research in the field of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care, through a series of activities concerned with training, research, information and documentation.

Among its priorities the Chair has training in Family Medicine through different teaching programmes and activities at the different levels of university education. Also included among the priorities is the training of professional practitioners in Family Medicine in clinical research methods and health results and support for doctoral theses among the residents and specialists in Family and Community Medicine. It is also an effective instrument for ensuring collaboration among researchers and teaching staff on both nationally and internationally.
