SITLESS project
SITLESS: Exercise Referral Schemes enhanced by Self-Management Strategies to battle sedentary behaviour
SITLESS in an initiative financed by the European Commission (grant 634270) as part of the Horizon 2020 programme with the participation of seven institutions from six different countries.
The Health and Ageing Foundation acts as the coordinating centre for the project, which was presented to PHC-17-2014: Comparing the effectiveness of existing healthcare interventions in the elderly.
This multi-centre clinical trial will evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention to reduce sedentary behaviour in elderly people and is composed of three branches:
- intervention group for physical exercise complemented by self-caring strategies
- intervention group for physical exercise alone
- control group with regular treatment
