Aptitude: Action for the Prevention of Dependency of elderly people in the Trans Pyrenean Region
The Aptitude project, financed by the Poctefa European programme, has the objective of carrying out actions in the border area of the Pyrenees to prevent dependency in elderly people through the creation of a network of experts to promote attention, training, research and innovation in gerontology.
With ten regions and more than twenty hospitals involved (in France, Spain and Andorra) this network should allow the creation of links between professionals working in the areas of ageing and the elderly (health professionals, scientists, regional authorities, industrialists, business owners, politicians, user associations, elderly volunteers, etc.).
This project has been co-funded in a 65% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Interreg V-A Program Spain - France - Andorra (POCTEFA 2014-2020). The aim of the POCTEFA program id to strengthen the economic and social integration of the Spain-France-Andorra border area. It's focused on the development of economic, social and environmental activities in the border area through common strategies that promote the sustainable development of the area.
