The 6th Translation and Literature Workshop will take place on 15 and 16 October. The workshop is organised every two years by the Jordi Arbonés Chair, in collaboration with the Study Group of Contemporary Catalan Translations (GETCC). The Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI), with the collaboration of the Department of Translation, Interpreting and East Asian Studies, also participated in organising the workshop. The two sessions will take place at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, in Aula 4 (Carles Riba).

In this sixth edition, the workshops are dedicated to theatre plays in the post-war years and, specifically, to the translations by Josep Maria Poblet and Bonaventura Vallespinosa. After the opening speech, the first conference will be offered by Margarida Aritzeta, who will speak on the preferences and needs of both translators. At around 11:30 am, the session on day 15 will focus on the figure of Josep Maria Poblet. Speaking on him will be Jaume Ferrer, Marta Giné, Teresa Julio and Pau Joan Hernández.

Thursday 16 October will be focused exclusively on Bonaventura Vallespinosa. The workshop will begin at 10 am and several theatrical plays translated by Vallespinosa will be commented and analysed, including Italian and French plays, and followed by contemporary works. Speaking on him and his experiences will be Rossend Arqués, Miquel Edo, Joaquim Sala-Sanahuja and Ramon Lladó. The Translation and Literature Workshop will end with a theatrical reading by Marta Juanhuix.
