A team of lecturers from the UAB Faculty of Translation and Interpreting launch the e·ChinesePlus, an open-access platform with over 90 online activities and auto-correction exercises to help students learn Chinese.

This Moodle platform is open to everyone, and students can gain access to the platform by registering for free with their email address. The activities can be filtered according to three parameters: level (there are for levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference), competence (oral comprehension, written comprehension, culture, oral expression, translation, pronunciation, graphemic, grammar and vocabulary), and topic (food, dates, times, sports, parties, descriptions, etc.).

The headquarters of the Fundació de Institut Confuci de Barcelona (FICB) (Carrer Elisabets 10) will host a presentation of the e.ChinesePlus platform on 21 November at 5:30 p.m. Lecturers Helena Casas-Tost, responsible for the project, Sara Rovira and Mireia Vargas will speak at the event. In addition to the foundation, the presentation was organised by the Research Group on Translation from Chinese into Catalan/Spanish (TXICC) and the Group for the Study of Literacy in the Teaching and Learning of Second Languages and Translation.

This new tool was created by a team of Chinese teachers from the Department of Translation and Interpreting & East Asian Studies at the UAB formed by Helena Casas-Tost, Lourdes Gay, Guo Xiaoyan, Nie Lingzhi, Antonio Paoliello, Sara Rovira and Mireia Vargas. The new platform is related to e-ChineseTools, a quadrilingual open-access database of digital resources for learning Chinese that was developed in 2021 also by teachers from the UAB Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.
