PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION BY JORDI BARTOLOMÉ FILELLA

Birdwatching is an activity that combines a passion for nature with a deep interest in scientific research, offering multiple benefits for both outdoor enthusiasts and scientists. Nature photography, in particular, has become very popular among birdwatchers, as it allows you to capture the splendor and beauty of birds in their natural habitat. This not only creates spectacular images, but also helps to document little-known species and spread knowledge about biodiversity. On a scientific level, birdwatching contributes to the collection of important data on migrations, population trends and changes in ecosystems, being fundamental for the conservation of many threatened species.

In the field of observation techniques, the amateur birder uses a variety of tools such as binoculars, bird guides, and high-resolution cameras to identify and study species. Field trips can be as simple as a walk in the woods or as specialized as expeditions to remote locations to observe rare species. Approaching or stalking techniques similar to those used by hunters are also employed. Historically, interest in bird watching arose in 19th-century Europe, when species began to be systematically classified and studied, a move that was essential for the development of evolutionary biology. Today, ornithology is an established scientific discipline that combines amateur observation with large-scale research, reflecting the evolution of interest in better understanding the natural world.
