Ideal student profile

The ideal student profile for this master's degree is that of a graduate with an official degree in the field of translation, philology, humanities or audiovisual communication, though consideration will also be given to graduates in other areas who have worked in the field of audiovisual translation.

Students should have good general knowledge of today's international cultural and political worlds, a good knowledge of the world of audiovisual culture, an interest in other cultures and new technologies, oral and written fluency, and the ability to summarise, investigate and learn constantly. They should have a particular sensitivity towards language, a robust audiovisual culture and good teamwork skills, and they should be creative and thorough. They should be able to use office software competently, especially audiovisual translation (subtitling) and translation memory tools.

Mastery of the programme's working languages is also required: English, Spanish and Catalan (in the case of translating into this language).
