Official Master's Degree in Advanced Studies in Catalan Language and Literature

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

To be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in the field of Catalan language and literature or other Romance languages, linguistics and literary studies, as well as other qualifications in the field of arts and humanities. Subject to acceptance by the Master's degree committee, graduates from other studies who can accredit complementary training in the Catalan language may also be admitted.

Students who have not had previous formal training in Catalan will have to accredit by means of an official certificate a level equivalent to level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Selection criteria

In the event that the number of registered places exceeds the number of places offered, the allocation of places will be made in accordance with the following priority criteria:

  • Alignment of the Bachelor's degree in the field of Catalan Philology: 30%
  • Academic record:  30%
  • Personal statement: 20%
  • Curriculum vitae: 10%
  • Letters of recommendation: 10%

If necessary, personal interviews may be carried out as a complement to the selection process.
