External work placements
Tipology
a) Curricular external academic work placements are those that are integrated into the study plans and have value in ECTS credits. It is obligatory to formalize (a minimum of 15 days before the start of the stay) the model of the UAB curricular agreement with the Academic Management of the Faculty. You must have the IDCat or equivalent digital certificate to sign it (you can process it at the Rector's Office or at any other authorized entity).
External curricular work placements access requirements
- Be enrolled in university studies with which the basic skills that must be acquired with work placements are linked.
- Be enrolled in the related subject of the study plan in question (a minimum of credits of the study plan must have been passed, see conditions).
- Not maintaining a labor relationship with the collaborating entity where you want to do the work placement or a family relationship of up to the second degree with a manager or with the external tutor. If not, consult exceptional cases with Academic Management.
- Do not exceed the maximum operating credits of the degree.
- Have contracted the corresponding complementary insurance.
- In case of non paid work placement, to have the Spanish Social Security Number (NUSS) específico para prácticas formativas
- Have the idCAT or equivalent digital certificate (you can obtain it at the Rectorate Registry Office or at any other authorized entity).
Steps to follow for curricular placements
- Check the requirements.
- Contact the work placement coordinator of your bachelor's degree.
- Submit an agreement request (information form) to tha Academic Administration Office signed by the work placement coordinator 15 days before the start of the work placement.
- To formalise the enrolment, you must send an e-mail to the Academic Administration Office and attach the authorisation from your coordinator or the official work placement agreement form, correctly filled out and signed.

b) Extracurricular academic work placements are those that are not part of the curriculum (no credit recognition) and that, for the student, are completely voluntary. Despite being extracurricular work placements, they must have a direct link with the studies that the student is studying.
External extracurricular work placements access requirements
- Be enrolled in the university studies to which the skills to be acquired through work placements are linked.
- Have passed 120 credits in the case of undergraduate students.
- Have contracted the corresponding complementary insurance.
