PhD students and early careers researchers interested in improving the social impact of their research have the opportunity of enrolling in the workshop “Responsible Research and Innovation: How to maximise the local impact of my research?” which will take part on Thursdays in November, at the Conference Hall of Plaça Cívica.

The workshop will offer students practical and theoretical tools to enrich their academic scholarship with a responsible behaviour towards society, addressing questions related to communication, citizen engagement and actions focused on young people.

The main aim is to give researchers the tools needed to improve their skills in communicating their research and fostering local impact through constructive dialogue and collaborative work with citizens.

The workshop is part of the H2020 research project PERFORM (www.perform-research.eu), with the involvement of ICTA-UAB, which assesses new ways of bringing science closer to young people through the use of performing arts such as stand-up comedy (Catalonia), clowns (France) and science busking (United Kingdom).

The workshop offers students the opportunity to engage in an apprenticeship through their involvement in the PERFORM’s participatory workshops in schools, taking place from January to March 2018. Therefore, students are offered a practical experience in teaching science in schools by using innovative methods such as scenic arts.

The course will be given in English.

Enrollment: until October 29th.
