Ph.D student for participating in a FP7 project on urban metabolism

The project involves assistance in developing a methodology for urban metabolism (water, energy, food, and waste) and applying it to four regions (macro scale) and two cities (micro scale) of North Africa. Specific tasks include literature reviews on urban metabolism, data compilation and analysis
The project involves assistance in developing a methodology for urban metabolism (water, energy, food, and waste) and applying it to four regions (macro scale) and two cities (micro scale) of North Africa. Specific tasks include literature reviews on urban metabolism, data compilation and analysis (including quantitative analyses), preparation of oral and written presentations and reports on the subject, fieldwork in North Africa, and assistance to meetings. We are looking for a student with a degree in Environmental Sciences, Geography, Engineering or similar with a solid background in physical sciences and quantitative methods. English written and spoken absolutely required. Knowledge of French would be a plus. It is expected that the student eventually develops this research into a PhD dissertation and accompanying scientific papers.
