U.E: Maria de Maeztu

Alba Marcos will work as a financial officer and Michela Osnato as a scientific manager, under the supervision of scientific director and ICTA-UAB researcher Esteve Corbera.

Alba Marcos holds a BA in Art History and Music History and Sciences. In the past five years, she has formed part of the International Mobility Unit of the UAB Employability Service, where she has participated in the management of the international Erasmus+ Internship programmes of the European Commission, and in the UAB Exchange Programme Traineeships. She has also participated in the development of activities to promote the international mobility of UAB students and to foster the professional career of students and graduates at an international level.

Michela Osnato completed her academic studies at the University of Milan (ITALY), first with a MSc in Plant Biotechnology and then with a PhD in Plant Biology and Crop Productivity. Since graduating, she has worked in European institutions investigating the developmental plasticity of plants - with a particular focus on plant adaptation to climate change. In her academic experience, she was also involved in lab training of first stage researchers and teaching to University students. Beyond the bench, she has participated in several outreach activities to foster equal opportunities for women in STEM and promote scientific culture. Among others, she developed her own science communication project - Secret life of a plant biologist - aimed at giving a face and a voice to young researchers. Since 2020, she collaborates with the American Society of Plant Biologists as scientific writer of the knowledge-sharing platform Plantae and is Assistant Features Editor of the scientific journal The Plant Cell.
