Learn to explain your research in 2 minutes and win the Elevator Pitch competition

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, IBB, INc and ICTA-UAB institutes announce a competition for the doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers at their centres. The challenge consists in participants explaining the research they are conducting in under two minutes in an interesting and entertaining way, and with comprehensive language. To do this, the call includes a free course offered by the Big Van Science group in which they will learn to talk about science in public.
In four training sessions, participants will acquire formulas and techniques used for on-stage oral communication so that they can enjoy the experience of raising the public's interest in their scientific project.
The training course will be held every Tuesday of February 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the Elevator Pitch competition will be held on March 14, 2019 at the Faculty of Medicine. There will be prizes for the three best speeches.
Places are limited and those interested in participating must register by sending an email to comunicacio.inc@uab.cat before January 15, 2019.
The organizing centres IBB, INc and ICTA-UAB, grouped within the framework of the Observatory of Science Dissemination (ODC) of the UAB, organise this activity which is funded by the FECyT.
