ICTA-UAB researcher Mario Giampietro at the WE Nexus Expert Event in Italy

MAGIC Project Coordinator Mario Giampietro from ICTA-UAB will participate next 28 and 29 September 2016, in the Expert Workshop on Understanding the Water-Energy Nexus: Integrated Water and Power System Modelling, organized by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) with the participation of EC’s Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), in Ispra (Italy).

ICTA-UAB researcher Mario Giampietro will take part in the session on “Assessing climate change impacts (gradual and extreme) on water in power system models”. Before his intervention, Mario Giampietro will briefly present ICTA-UAB to the audience.

The agenda for the workshop will focus on modelling hydropower dynamics in power system models; modes and methods of interaction between power system models and water resources models; modelling water temperature and water availability dynamics in power system models; and assessing climate change impacts (gradual and extreme) on water in power system models.
