ICTA-UAB pays tribute to retiring Joan Rieradevall
The ICTA-UAB researcher Joan Rieradevall received a tribute from his colleagues on the occasion of his recent retirement.
On November 21, the ICTA-UAB management team organized an event to thank him for his professional and personal dedication to the institution. The director of the ICTA-UAB, Xavier Gabarrell highlighted the importance of the figure of Rieradevall for the institute. For its part, Rieradevall gave the ICTA-UAB an illustration of our emblematic building made by himself.
He obtained a Ph. D., in Chemical Science, (Chemical Engineering, 1992 and he has been researcher at ICTA-UAB and Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He published over 140 articles in scientific and technical, 20 books and book chapters, abstracts in conventions, workshops on the Environment: LCA products, process and services, waste treatment, environmental planning and management, ecodesign and energy recovery from biomass.
He was awarded the Premio 2004 of sustainable projects Ciudad de Barcelona (2004); Premio de Diseño para el Reciclaje 2000 of the Environment Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2001); Premio Ciudad de Barcelona on environmental technology, and Premio San Alberto Magno for Graduates 1981 by Chemical Associations.
