IEK-CHANGES project, an ERC Starting Grant from the European Union, organises a workshop that offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and explore potential research collaborations in Bolivia, bringing together the IEK-CHANGES team and leading experts in sustainability, biocultural approaches, and conservation.

Workshop: “Understanding biocultural changes in the ancestral homelands of the Tsimane’ people, Beni Department, Bolivia

  • Date: Wednesday 9th April 2025 – Thursday 10th April 2025
  • Venue: ICTA-UAB

The purpose of the workshop is to share different perspectives and insights on the biocultural changes taking place in the Tsimane’ Territory in Bolivian Amazonia, and the different methodological approaches available to document and make sense of such changes. We will share lessons learned from previous research projects conducted with or by the Tsimane’ people, as well as other Indigenous Peoples in Bolivia, to understand the different processes through which the biocultural nexus between people and place establishes and perpetuates itself, can be disrupted and broken, or sustained and restored.
