A team formed by students from the UAB, the University of Trento, Italy, and the University of Stavanger, Norway, participated in the resolution of the challenge Dealing with discrimination in young groups, proposed by the Terrassa City Council.

The result of the process, which was presented on 15 July, consisted in the creation of a document with a series of ideas on how to inform about the work conducted by the municipal authorities of the Terrassa City Council on discriminations and to raise awareness and give more visibility to these situations with the aim of preventing them and reducing them in number.

For months the students worked together and gained knowledge of the matter through the study of academic bibliographies and interviews with key informants and municipal experts and technicians. A case study was also conducted in Can Parellada, a neighbourhood visited by the students where they were able to talk with participants of the Districte Jove project of the Youth Service of Terrassa.

The challenge, which took place during the 2023/24 academic year, was led by Begonya Saez Tajafuerce, lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and coordinator of the Minor in Gender Studies.
