Content Official Master's Degree in Legal Profession
Master description
This university Master's degree comprises 90 credits and is structured in two blocks that are complementary but clearly differentiated: the training course, for 60 credits, which includes the Master's dissertation, and the Work Placement, for 30 credits. The teaching staff is an evenly-balanced mix of university lecturers and experienced lawyers.
All modules are compulsory. In class, lecturers and lawyers deliver specialist theoretical training, constantly focusing on actual legal practice and mainly using the case-study method.
The aim is to prepare for the final assessment of professional competence organised by the ministries of Justice and Education.
The Master's dissertation involves developing and resolving a case study, under the supervision of a tutor, and defending it orally before a panel of university lecturers and practising lawyers.
The Work Placement is crucial to the master's degree. Students are fully integrated into a law firm, in which they have to work in the same way as practising lawyers, interacting with others and resolving the matters assigned to them. The placement will take place in public or private institutions closely related to the legal profession, such as courts, prosecutors' offices, societies, and legal or human resources departments in public administration, official institutions or companies.
