Admission Official Master's Degree in Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural Studies

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in the Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, or in other disciplines relevant to this master’s degree, related to the humanities or social sciences and law, with preference being given to Modern and Ancient Literatures, Philology, Philosophy, History, History of Art, Humanities, Translation, Film and Theatre Studies, Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Sociology or Anthropology.

Foreign students are required to have level C1 of the DELE Spanish Language Certification issued by the Instituto Cervantes.

Selection criteria

Priority will be given to students who have previous knowledge attained in disciplines related to the master's degree, such as Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, Modern and Ancient Literatures, Philology, Philosophy, History of Art, Humanities, Translation, Film and Theatre Studies, Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Sociology and Anthropology.

Complementary training

In accordance with admission requirements, on receipt of applicants’ documentation, the Master’s Degree Committee may require certain applicants to take bridging courses of up to a maximum of 9 ECTS credits in the Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature. This represents basic training that provides a common grounding in these ambits, required in order to successfully follow the contents of this master’s degree.
