Admission Official Master's Degree in European Union-China: Culture and Economy

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements are as follows:
1. To be in possession of an official qualification of degree or equivalent or extracomunitario title in any of the following areas:
  • Social Sciences (Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Management, Tourism and Hotel Management)
  • Humanities (East Asian Studies, Translation and Interpretation, Spanish Philology, Hispanic Studies and Modern and Contemporary History)
2. Linguistic knowledge:
Knowledge of Spanish at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe for students from non-Spanish speaking regions

Selection criteria

In the event that the number of participants exceeds the number of places on offer, places will be awarded in accordance with the following priority criteria:

  • Academic Transcript (50%)
  • Professional experience in the management of cultural and/or business entities (25%). This takes into account professionals from various fields—business, governmental or non-governmental institutions—who have the necessary academic qualifications to access this master's degree and who also have a professional background in an ambit concerning the relationship between the EU and China. From a total of 10 points, equivalent to 25%, one year of accredited professional experience is equivalent to 5 points, and two years or more will be awarded a maximum of 10 points.
  • Obligatory personal interview for all candidates (20%)
  • Level B1 or higher in English (as established by the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) (5%)

Complementary training

These are not required for students with an entry-level degree in the field of Social Sciences (Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Management), East Asian Studies and Hispanic Studies, as well as students with an entry-level degree in Tourism and Hotel Management.

Students with a degree in Translation and Interpreting, Spanish Studies, and Modern and Contemporary History must take a maximum of 12 ECTS credits from the following subjects:

  • Introduction to Economics: 6 ECTS credits
  • Business Economics I: 6 ECTS
  • International Economics: 6 ECTS credits
  • Business and Domestic and International Markets in East Asia: 6 ECTS
  • East Asian International Relations: 6 ECTS credits
