The degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology is addressed to students with a critical spirit, interested in social and cultural differences and inequalities, in the genesis of stereotypes and prejudices, in understanding social habits as the result of cultural processes and not as natural and immutable acts. Students must be able to combine logical thinking with the ability to feel empathy and comprehension towards people and groups with different social and cultural characteristics and be interested in both the details of cultural variability and a critical contrast of the theories which seek to explain this phenomenon.
