Martí Olaya Collection
Martí Olaya Galceran (1927-2014) had a diverse professional career in banking and the business sector. Alongside this, he made significant cultural contributions, particularly in promoting Catalan theatre and children's and youth literature. He was closely associated with the magazine Cavall Fort, serving on its editorial board since its launch. He also directed the Taller de teatre and Teatre: joc d’equip collections published by La Galera. From 1992 to 1993, he coordinated the children's literature magazine Faristol.
As a writer of children's and youth narratives, he translated several works from French to Catalan. His notable stories include A la vora del mar, Terra endins, Contes tendres, and Una sargantana prenent el sol. He regularly contributed to newspapers and magazines such as Avui, La Vanguardia, Diari de Sant Cugat, Serra d’Or, and Revista de Sants.
Collection description: The Olaya collection primarily consists of documentation related to the cultural management conducted by its producer, along with various correspondence and both his own works and those of others. It also includes a selection of books and magazines.
