Online gender-based violence
Description:
The international conference "Gender-based cyber violence" will be held on 23 May at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law. This activity is part of the R&D+i project entitled "Prevention and response to gender-based cyber violence" (CIBERVIO). During the day there will be presentations by professionals and round tables with victims and professionals who care for victims.
The event will start with Susana Navas, dean of the Faculty and Noelia Igareda, from IP project CIBERVIO. The first lecture will be given by Paz Lloria, from the University of Valencia with "Digital gender violence".
This will be followed by the first round table of the day with victims of cyber-violence and gender violence. Maria Barcons will participate with "El derecho al olvido de las víctimas de ciberviolencia de género", Anna Melendez with "La dificultad de seguir adelante después: las consecuencias que te quedan. An approach to the victimological impact" and finally, Paz Olaciregui Rodríguez with "Gender cyber-violence: a look from the legal sociology".
The second round table will be with professionals who work on the issue and care for victims. Cristina Vasilescu will participate with "The challenges and needs of professionals who care for victims of gender-based cyber-violence" and Olga Paz with "Sexual harassment protocols in cases of gender-based cyber-violence".
The second presentation will be given by Daniela Heim, from the National University of Río Negro, Argentina, who will address "The right to a life free of violence in digital environments. Normative challenges".
To end the conference, the last round table will be held with Josep Cañabate and "Cyber-violence, algorithms and social networks" and Noelia Igareda with "Jurisprudence on gender cyber-violence".

How to become a professional in the aeronautics sector
Description:
A debate will be held on 23 May in which aeronautical specialists will explain how to become a professional in this sector. The event will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m., and will be held in the multipurpose room (S/105) of the Sabadell Campus. The specialists who will participate are: Geral Rodriguez, executive aviation commander; Fátima Ginard, commercial aviation commander; Mercedes Varona, air traffic controller; Lucía Rodríguez, air traffic controller; and Carolina Martín, aerobatic pilot. The round table will be moderated by Miriam Soriano, delegate of Aeronautical Management UAB, and Alba Cruz, UAB lecturer and air traffic controller.

12th IET Conferences: mental health, labour market and work relations
Description:
This year's Conference of the Institute of Labour Studies (IET) will be held under the title "Mental Health, Labor Market and Labor Relations. Old and new challenges in the post-pandemic period" and will address the issue of mental health and mental health inequalities in the workplace. The conference will have a mixed format, i.e., you can attend in person at the headquarters of the Labor, Economic and Social Council of Catalonia (CTESC), in Barcelona, or attend the conference via streaming.
L’acte s’inaugurarà amb la ponència de Maurizio Curtarelli, senior research project manager de l’European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), titulada Salut mental i prevenció de riscos psicosocials. Evidència del treball de recerca d‘EU-OSHA». A les 11:40 h s’iniciarà la primera taula rodona sobre el mercat laboral i la salut mental. Patriciparan Joan Miquel Verd, professor de la UAB, amb L'atur paralitza? Els efectes de la desocupació sobre les relacions socials i el benestar emocional en les persones joves» i Mireia Bolíbar, professora de la UAB, amb Els efectes de la precarietat laboral en la salut mental juvenil». A les 12 h es durà a terme la segona taula rodona i última de la jornada sobre relacions laborals, organització del treball i salut mental. Participaran Laura Esteve Matalí, professora de la UAB amb Panell OTS: buscant evidència sobre l'organització del treball i la salut de les persones treballadores»; Ricardo Esteban Legarreta, professor de la UAB, amb Treball i salut mental. Aproximació jurídico-laboral»; Oscar Molina, professor de la UAB; i Pablo Sanz, professor de la Universidad de Zaragoza, amb Gestió algorítmica i riscos psicosocials». La taula serà moderada per Clara Llorens, investigadora ISTAS-CCOO i professora de la UAB.

Espai Muriel Casals to be inaugurated at the Sabadell campus
Description:
As a tribute to Muriel Casals, lecturer of the Department of Economics and Economic History of the UAB who left us in 2016, the Sabadell campus will inaugurate on 28 May at 12 noon, the Muriel Casals Space in an institutional event that will be attended by the rector of the University, Javier Lafuente. Among other responsibilities, Casals was vice-rector of International Relations and Cooperation, representative of the UAB in the Vives Network of Universities and member of the Parliament of Catalonia.

UAB and Cerdanyola City Council Literary Awards ceremony
Description:
The awards ceremony for this year's literary prizes will take place on 28 May at 4 p.m., in the conference hall (Sala d'actes) of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The awards are organised by the UAB and the City Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès. Last February was the deadline for the submission of original works, of which 25 are eligible for the 15th "Caterina Albert" Short Narrative Prize for Young People, 85 for the 29th "Miquel Martí i Pol" Poetry Prize and 82 for the 30th "Valldaura-Memorial Pere Calders" Novel Prize.
Participating in the awards ceremony will be Javier Lafuente, rector of the UAB; Carlos Cordón, mayor of Cerdanyola del Vallés; Rosa María Sebastián, vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship of the UAB; Margarita Freixas, dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities; and David González, councillor of Culture, Communication and EMD of Bellaterra at the City Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès.
