Dialogues focused on "Community Actions"
Description:
The activity "Diàlegs d'Acció Comunitària" represents a meeting point between professional practices and academic and research development at university. They are offered as a space for equal debates between professionals, activists and researchers, with the aim of foster collaborations and an exchange of knowledge.
The debates are organised by the Department of Social Psychology and the Department of Basic, Developmental and Educational Psychology, and the UAB Core in Mental Health, and include the support of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària.

Self-driving cars and legal safety of transport on debate
Description:
On 6 and 7 June, the EPSI UAB will hold the International Congress on Autonomous Driving and Legal Safety of Transport, in the framework of the homonymous project funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. The event will feature a panel of top-level speakers who will address issues such as: automation of automobile functions, regulatory challenges in various fields such as vehicle insurance, multi-purpose drone driving, and the navigability of autonomous ships.
The opening will be given by the director of Prevention and Integral Safety of the FUAB Training School, Montserrat Iglesias, and Eliseo Sierra, principal investigator of the Autonomous Driving and Transport Legal Safety (ADLAW) project. Registration is free and you can choose to attend in person or attend online.

Inauguration of the 6th edition of the AI4ALL programme
Description:
The Computer Vision Centre (CVC) will be hosting the inaugural event of the sixth edition of AI4ALL, a training programme specialising in artificial intelligence applied to industry and organised by the Parc de Recerca UAB (PRUAB), the CVC, the School of Engineering and the CSIC's Artificial Intelligence Research Institute.
The welcoming speeches will be given by Lluís Juncà, director general for Innovation, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Government of Catalonia; Rosa Maria Sebastián, vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship at the UAB and director of the Parc de Recerca UAB; Josep Lladós, director of the Computer Vision Centre (CVC); Ian Blanes, director of theUAB School of Engineering, and Lissette Lemus, innovation manager of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA) of the CSIC. The event will also include a presentation of the RDI network in Artificial Intelligence and of a successful case. The second part of the event will focus on explaining the programme to participants and offering a motivational dynamics.

International Congress on Autonomous Driving and Legal Safety of Transport
Description:

Conference and exhibition: "Horts verticals, metabolisme circular i km 0"
Description:
Under the framework of the 17th Science Festival, a conference will be held on various topics related to greenhouses, to reflect on their role from a social, architectural and productive vision in urban environments. Participating in the conference will be Xavier Gabarrell i Durany, vice-rector for Campus and Sustainability, and researcher at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB) and the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering of the UAB; and Verónica Arcas Pilz, researcher at ICTA-UAB.
The Ciutadella Hivernacle will also offer the exhibition entitled “Màquina Climàtica”, on display until 8 December. The exhibition plays with the simile of the warming effect produced by the greenhouse itself and the so-called greenhouse effect that makes life on Earth possible. It shows how human activity is accentuating this effect and will go through the history and evolution of greenhouses, as well as take a look at the productive future of these facilities. Sostenipra-ICTA-UAB has provided the content of the exhibition and the plants.

Diane Negra to talk about affect, authority and antagonism in customer service cultures

As part of the PhD programme in Journalism and Communication, the UAB will host a conference entitled I’m Sorry You Feel That Way: Affect, Authority and Antagonism in the Cultures of Customer Service with Diane Negra, professor of Film Studies and Screen Culture at the University College Dublin. The event will take place at the Sala de graus of the Faculty of Communication Studies on 11 June at 12:30 p.m.
