12th CIEU-FEiE 2024 Award for the most entrepreneurial person
Description:
One more year, the Centre for University Entrepreneurship (CIEU) of the UAB organises its CIEU-FEiE Award to the most entrepreneurial person. The event will take place in the conference hall (Sala d'actes) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. The session will begin with a presentation by Alan Fusté, founder of the company Mathew. This will be followed by the awards ceremony presented by the director of the CIEU, Andreu Turró. The categories awarded in this edition are: hotel management, archiving and document management, prevention and integral security, tourism, Faculty of Economics and Business and general UAB.

Conference on legal terminology and use of legal terms in real case scenarios
Description:
Cristina Blasi from the UAB Department of Public Law and Legal History Studies organises a conference to talk about legal terminology and the use of legal terms in real case scenarios. This activity will be divided into two parts, the first will last 60 minutes and will focus on general legal terms and definitions. In addition, the first activity will conduct an interview about a legal case. The second activity will also last 60 minutes and will deal with the terms and definitions used in legal proceedings. The second activity will consist in a Moot Court, which simulates a real court hearing.

Conference on "Managing Light Propagation with Scalable Nanophotonic Architectures"
Description:
The Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Biosciences will celebrate the International Day of Light with a conference entitled "Managing Light Propagation with Scalable Nanophotonic Architectures", by Agustín Mihi, researcher at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC).
Agustin Mihi is an expert in large area and low-cost crystalline and plasmonic photonic structures using unconventional nanofabrication techniques. His group investigates the design, fabrication and characterisation of photonic architectures that enhance the interaction between light and matter applied to emerging optoelectronic devices.

Laia Arañó, researcher from the UAB Centre for Dictatorships and Democracies, will present her book on Catalan prisoners i concentration camps in the town of Agde entitled El camp dels catalans. Agde en el sistema concentracionari francès (1939-1940) . The event will take place at the Museu Memorial de l'Exili (MUME) in the town of La Jonquera, on 10 May at 6 p.m.

Screening of the film "La Grande Bellezza" by Paolo Sorrentino
Description:
Within the film cycle: “Rewrites: practices of narrative appropriation”.
Considered one of the most successful Italian films, "La Grande Bellezza" tells the story of a journalist and writer, named Jep Gambardella, who enjoys the social and nightlife of Rome until he suffers an unexpected upheaval and begins to feel the city indifferent.

Dance premiere "Henko & Jo no busco, ho trobo"
Description:
Contemporary dance groups from the university will present in the Sala Teatre the pieces “Henko” and “Jo no busco, ho trobo”.
The level 1 contemporary dance group directed by Mario G. Sáez will start with “Henko”, a choreography where the dancers will take their way and move forward without looking back.
Finally, the contemporary dance group level 2, directed by Laia Santanach, will present “Jo no busco, ho trobo”, a piece inspired by Picasso’s work “The Ladies of Avignon”, where the dancers will explore various states in order to find something common.
