Sylvia Montilla (CAC) to attend the INNO MÈDIA UAB series
Description:
Sylvia Montilla, head of the Research, Studies and Publishing Unit at the Catalan Audiovisual Council (CAC) will offer a conference on 3 May at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Communication Studies under the framework of the conference series "MediaLab Innova UAB: Innovació i reptes dels sistemes de mitjans". This initiative is organised by the faculty and lecturers of Communication Structure of the Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and aims to provide students with the experiences of professionals.

Blood drive at the UAB
Description:
The UAB joins the new blood donation campaign of the Blood and Tissue Bank. Several areas of the campus will become a donation point. This campaign aims to make itself known among the younger generations of Catalonia, raise awareness and inform people about donating blood.
On 7 May from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a blood drive will take place at the entrance hall of the School of Engineering. To participate, it is necessary to sign up in advance by choosing the most suitable time. This year, the Blood and Tissue Bank aims to build the first digital castle. Each donation is one more step to building this castle that represents a symbol of the collective effort of donating blood and the cohesion and connection that this gesture means between donors and recipients.
The Blood and Tissue Bank is also holding a bone marrow donation campaign.

Open Day at the Computer Vision Centre
Description:
The CVC's Open Days are aimed directly to university students and the public in general as a way to share with other the activities conducted at the CVC and the work done in the research centre. The visit is aimed at showing what the computer vision centre is and what sectors it can benefit, as well as helping the public discover its main projects and lines of research, experience how research is conducted "live", and discover the academic and professional opportunities available at the centre (TFGs, work placements, master's degrees, PhD programmes, etc.).
The meeting will include a visit to the CVC's facilities, with different demonstrations of interactive technologies.

Conference on "Knowledge Transfer in Social Science and the Humanities"
Description:
The Xarxa AccessCat, with the support of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the UAB and AGAUR, through the Grants for R&D&I Networks (2021XARDI00007), and the collaboration of the UAB Parc de Recerca and the Directorate General of Knowledge Transfer of the Government of Catalonia, organises a conference to bring knowledge transfer to researchers and institutions in the fields of social sciences and humanities.
The event, aimed at teaching and research staff and technical and management staff of all Catalan universities, will emphasise two fundamental aspects: understanding the type of transfer that can be made from the fields of social sciences and humanities, and the mechanisms for evaluating its impact.
Prior registration is required to participate in the conference. Registration will close on 29 April or when the maximum capacity is reached.

12th CIEU-FEiE 2024 Award for the most entrepreneurial person
Description:
One more year, the Centre for University Entrepreneurship (CIEU) of the UAB organises its CIEU-FEiE Award to the most entrepreneurial person. The event will take place in the conference hall (Sala d'actes) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. The session will begin with a presentation by Alan Fusté, founder of the company Mathew. This will be followed by the awards ceremony presented by the director of the CIEU, Andreu Turró. The categories awarded in this edition are: hotel management, archiving and document management, prevention and integral security, tourism, Faculty of Economics and Business and general UAB.
