ICTA-UAB is hosting a seminar by Pranab Doley, an Indigenous political activist and leader, who will share his experiences and insights on conservation policies in India, and to reflect on key aspects related to conservation, climate justice, and indigenous rights.

Pranab Doley is an Indigenous political activist and leader, from the Northeast state of Assam, living close to the Kaziranga National Park. The park which is famous for its successful protection of rhinos, has been highly contested, for the use of violence and military means to protect wildlife.
In the last 10 years, Pranab has been highly involved in a series of issues related to Indigenous rights, farmers' rights, climate justice campaigns etc., and advocating for a just conservation model around Kaziranga and beyond. He is the president of the Greater Kaziranga Land and Human Rights, India. And the Committee Advisor of the Community Network Against Protect Areas (CNAPA) India.
