This course is aimed at music education professionals who want to improve the management of diversity in the classroom. It provides didactic resources for the development of collective classes, especially focused on instrumental and vocal groups, from an inclusion-centered approach.

Music school and conservatory teachers face significant challenges that require methodological adaptations to the rapid contemporary social and cultural changes. It is necessary to update strategies and resources to use them in the subjects that make up the usual training plans (choral singing, orchestra, band, big band, chamber music, combo, music theory...).

This training is based on active pedagogies that promote the social and globalizing character of musical practice. Aspects such as cooperation, creativity, and experimentation play a central role. The tools acquired during this training have been designed for the specific needs of classroom management in music schools, considering the diversity of students currently part of them.

In this sense, the course is an ideal educational complement both for professionals already working in music schools or conservatories and for people who are finishing a degree that leads to a professional career as a music teacher.

Participants will receive various types of training that will combine some theoretical sessions on specialized topics (inclusion, student profiles with diversities) with workshops and classroom activities that will promote creativity and allow reflection on how to manage class groups.

The course is designed intensively over 3 mornings in July or September, when music school teachers have more availability to travel to the UAB.
