Graduate Diploma in Management and Preservation of Audiovisual and Sound Records

The new forms of production and management of audiovisual content have led to the emergence of new professional profiles linked to archiving and documentary management, and innovative forms of business in the exploitation of audiovisual funds and collections. This evolution has caused a lack of specialized personnel within the archival field to face the challenge of the preservation, management and use and dissemination of this heritage, and its complexity of treatment.

The specialisation diploma in Management and Preservation of Audiovisual and Sound Records was created to respond to a demand for specialized training from different professional sectors related to these documents. The study plan focuses on the acquisition of knowledge for a comprehensive treatment of all technical and non-technical archival processes involved in documentation linked to the audiovisual field, from video, sound document and film document, with a special emphasis on digital video and audio.

The legal field will be taken into account, given the legal implications of the archival treatment of audiovisual material in terms of data protection and image rights, but also in terms of intellectual property, access or dissemination of audiovisual materials.

UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace...

These internships may be curricular (compulsory) or non-curricular (optional).

• Curricular
  Curricular practices are those which are included in the curriculum of the studies and, therefore, must be overcome to obtain the degree. The programme manager will explain you the details of how, where and under what conditions you should do the internship.

• Non-curricular
  Extracurricular practices are those that are not included in the curriculum of the studies. You can choose to do them in addition. The coordination of your program will explain the details of how, where and under what conditions can they be carried out.
