Teresa Camps Miró's art books collection
Description of the collection:
The Humanities Library has incorporated the collection of art books by Professor Emerita Teresa Camps Miró, from the Department of Art and Musicology of the UAB. Professor Camps has been a member of the Catalan Association of Art Critics since its inception, as well as the Advisory Council of Santa Mònica and the Heritage Commission of the Generalitat de Catalunya. She was also a founding member of the commission of contemporary art spaces in Catalonia.
Her research has focused on contemporary Catalan art. She is the author of numerous articles on Catalan artists from Modernism and Noucentisme, from the postwar period, on events and artists linked to conceptual art and emerging artists. She is an expert in the life and work of the painter Joaquim Mir (1873-1940), on which she has written basic texts and has organized important exhibitions, given lectures, elaborated studies and certificates of authenticity; she has done the same with other artists, such as Enric Casanovas, Martí Torrents, Josep Busquets and Lluís Montané. One of her last works has been the edition of the correspondence of Casanovas, made together with Susanna Portell.
