Lynx collection
Lynx Edicions is a publishing brand committed to producing high-quality ornithology and natural history books. It is renowned for the 17-volume series Handbook of the Birds of the World, which was the first work ever to describe and illustrate each member of an entire Class of the Animal Kingdom, as well as the 9-volume series Handbook of the Mammals of the World. Lynx publishes a wide range of wildlife titles, including encyclopedias, checklists, field guides and monographs.
Lynx Edicions has donated its library to the UAB, with a collection of more than 5,000 volumes, most of them on birds, but also on groups such as mammals, amphibians and reptiles.
This fund, which we have called the Lynx Collection, will be available for consultation as the cataloging tasks are gradually completed. It is one of the most relevant ornithological collections in Europe.
The part already available is deposited in the special collections room of the Science and Technology Library.
